Chris House – Kingdom Perspectives on Race and Ethnicity in America
Dr. Christopher A. House is a preacher, thought leader, scholar, public intellectual, and Pentecostal ecumenist who helps to further represent the existence of high level scholarship and the strong intellectual tradition present in the Church.
Coming out of a solid preaching and service tradition rooted in the Pentecostal church, he seamlessly integrates intellectual rigor and spiritual fervor in his sermonic and ministry presentations. He serves the body of Christ locally and globally as an intenerate preacher who effectively communicates the gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that promotes building bridges across diverse identities and religious traditions.
Beyond the pulpit, he has held many distinguished academic fellowships. He holds an earned Doctorate of Philosophy degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He currently serves as an assistant professor at Ithaca College, Chaplin of the African American Worship Service at Cornell University (both in Ithaca, NY), and as a visiting professor at The Race, Rhetoric and Religion Institute at Memphis Theological Seminary (Memphis, TN). Deep theological reflection and profound social witness of his efforts at work in improving the human condition mark his published articles in scholarly and professional journals.
Dr. House is an accomplished public, motivational, and inspirational speaker. His teaching can be heard in seminary and secular classrooms, and an increased demand on his powerful preaching ministry has resulted in a plethora of invitations extended to him to minister in the United States, and around the world including Jamaica, The Bahamas, Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa.
